From LinkedIn.com

“Sergey is the most talented user experience professional I've ever worked with — especially when it comes to business interfaces. He understands that our ability to make sense of and communicate about information is more important than simply putting it into an interface. He has an academic familiarity with the writings of Tufte and Few, and I wouldn't be surprised if he publishes a collection of his own musings soon! I'm glad to have worked with and learned from Sergey while at Specific Media / MySpace.”

Miron Lulic
Product Manager, Analytics, Specific Media | Myspace

“Sergey is an amazing visionary. Whether it was coming up with new ideas on how to lay something out, or to fully understanding what a client needed vs. wanted; he was always coming up with detailed and well thought out plans and was able to execute them accordingly.”

Todd Graham
Director of Programming Services, VPI.Net

“Sergey always had great understanding of all online campaigns from concept to completion, he always understood the most complex facets from the start and asked the right questions to spark up new thoughts from clients. Not only is he a great Director but also a great photographer. I trust him and he is a joy to work with.”

Raul (Tkay) Garcia
Sr. Art Director, Juxt Interactive

“Sergey is a very down to earth, easy going person. His management style brings out the best in people under him, as you know exactly where you stand and he doesn't hesitate to offer praise when deserved or constructive criticism when needed. Sergey's ability to multi task is second to none. He continuously manages several large projects and several people to each of those projects at a time. In addition to his management skills he is also extremely knowledgeable in many facets of both design and development. Overall one of, if not the best managers I have worked under.”

§ Summary

I am a User Experience designer and Product Manager specializing in creation of goal driven, user-centric, effective interfaces. I collect requirements, envision solutions and drive them through to completion. My particular interests include usability, UI design, data visualization and information architecture.

I find inspiration in works of Edward Tufte, Alan Cooper, Bret Victor and others, but have my own opinion and will argumentatively defend it. I avoid marketing bias based on subjective opinions, but strongly believe in empowering end users, giving them tools to be more effective and make rational informed decisions.

I love beautiful minimalist design, accurate typography, and focus on primary tasks. Design for me is not about beautiful gradients, but about complete product vision.

I'm very interested in beautiful and effective data visualization, with data comparisons, multivariate analysis, and emphasis on evidence.

In my current position I drive product strategy, define requirements, work with engineers through development and release, train end users and maintain the product after launch.
